ABOUT BEVERAGE

Beverage drinks are not only taken to quench thirst, but also to refresh the body and other health benefits as well. Beverages can be taken hot, warm or cold. Water, which is neither soft nor hard, is also a beverage, just like milk. They can also be either soft or hard. Many soft beverages do not contain any alcoholic content and are taken to refresh the body. Most of them have tremendous health benefits. Hard beverages on the other hand contain alcohol. Most of them are taken for pleasure and to refresh the body but there are some with medical benefits.

Common beverages include fruit punches, fruit juices, fruit cocktails, sweet tea, iced tea, lime water, soda, sweetened drinks, coffee, hot or cold chocolate, lemonade and colas. Most of these have health benefits owing to the addition of natural ingredients in their composition. Some soft beverages contain little amounts of alcohol, added for preservation purposes. Sometimes, the sugars in sweetened beverages ferment, resulting in alcohol. The alcohol level in such drinks is negligible and has no effect on the body.

Hard beverages are known for their alcoholic effect. They contain varying levels of alcohol which are determined by the preparation method used to make them. Given the nature of these drinks, they can only taken either warm or cold, unlike some soft beverages which can be taken hot. Examples of hard beverages are beers, wines, spirits, gins and cocktails. The alcohol content in each depends on how strong the drink is meant to be. Stronger drinks have higher alcohol content than milder drinks. Presence of alcohol in these drinks prolongs the shelf life of these drinks.

Among the renowned beverage suppliers is Coca-Cola Co., which is the world’s largest beverage supplier. It has a large product base of soft drinks, energy drinks, health drinks and diet colas to its name and supplies beverages to all corners of the world. Because of its wide reach, it has production plants in different countries, where the drinks are made before being supplied to the regions nearest to them. This minimizes shipping costs which would make the drinks costly.

Most beverage supplies begin with production of sodas and colas which are by far the most popular beverages. Iced tea, lemon tea and energy drinks have also picked up rather fast and today account for a large percentage of the beverages being supplied across the world.
